Bend Neighborhoods for a Monthly Stay: Where to Look
2 min readFurnished Keys Team

Where you stay in Bend shapes your days more than you'd expect. Traffic across the river, the Parkway, and winter roads all add up over a few months. Here's a quick look at the areas renters ask about most.
Downtown and Old Bend
You can walk to restaurants, Drake Park and the river. Older homes here often have ADUs and garage apartments. It's great if you want to be in the middle of things, but expect street parking and some weekend noise.
Old Mill District
Shopping, the river trail and the amphitheater are all close by. Condos and apartments are common. It's a good fit for a solo stay or a couple who want a lot within walking distance.
NorthWest Crossing and the west side
This is a newer neighborhood with parks, a small commercial center, and quick access to Century Drive and Mt. Bachelor. Many homes have ADUs. It's popular with families and with anyone who plans to spend winter on the mountain.
Awbrey Butte and the river's west bank
Quieter streets and views, with a short drive to downtown. Expect larger homes and a car-first lifestyle.
East side, near St. Charles
Bend's main hospital is on the east side, so this area is practical for healthcare workers and anyone commuting east. You'll find more single-family homes, easier parking, and quick access to Highway 20 and the Parkway.
Southeast and southwest Bend
These areas have newer subdivisions, more space for the money, and good access to the Parkway. They work well for families and for contract workers who need room for a truck or gear.
Just outside Bend
Redmond is about a 25-minute drive north and close to the airport.
Sisters is a small town about 30 minutes northwest, quieter and close to the mountains.
Tumalo has rural properties between Bend and Sisters.
How to choose
Start with where you'll spend most weekdays, then check the drive at the times you'll actually make it. If you're here for winter, ask owners about snow removal and parking.
